Saturday 17 June, 1.00 to 5.00pm.
Following the installation of an additional 10 nest boxes in the church tower, CCTV has been installed to allow observation of the nesting activity. So come along to see live images and recorded views of the swifts in the nest boxes.
Fulbourn Swifts Group
Meeting every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm in front of St Vigor's Church, Manor Walk, starting 3 May.
For the seventh successive year, the group will be monitoring Swift nest sites in the village, counting and recording groups of birds in the air, and enjoying their acrobatic skills and distinctive screaming calls. The main focus this year will be on St Vigor's eaves and nest boxes, but still with some observation of sites elsewhere in the village. If you suspect that Swifts might be nesting near your home - say, under the eaves or under a dislodged roof tile - then please let the group know. Contact John Willis on C881103 or email email@example.com
No prior experience or equipment is needed, there is no commitment to come every week, and we are always pleased to see newcomers. A number of people go out surveying on other evenings, especially during warm weather, so there are opportunities to join them if you cannot make the Wednesday evenings. Text John Willis on 07594 559819 for up to date information.
